La Ferme

2015.

During our journey in France we discovered an abandoned farm. It was for sale, although the owners had a hard time letting go. After all, the family had lived there for centuries. However, at his advanced age Roger Hervé could no longer maintain the farm. It was with a lot of regret they looked for suitable buyers. From our first meeting with Roger and his daughter Monique we clicked very well. A few weeks later the Ferme du Bois de Veude became ours.

Restauration begins immediately.

The character of the old building is retained as much as possible. All repairs and adjustments were carried out with old materials. The walls are restored by local craftsmen using  traditional  methods. For example:  the roofs are repaired with old tiles.

Sustainability and respect for the environment  are priorities. Wastewater is processed on site and returned to the land/ ground. The buildings and the swimming pool are heated by a groundwater heat pump

In the house we combined old elements with modern comfort.

Roger Hervé closely followed the works until his passing away. He was very pleased that the farm was returning to its former glory, although not as a farm.
