Splender from the past

Chinon

La Ferme is close to Chinon, a nice historic town with old buildings and squares with restaurants.

The fortress of Chinon towers over the city. The English kings used to live there. Large parts have been restored.

In Chinon is  something going: markets, concerts, festivals. On the promenade along the Vienne. a monthly flea market is held.

A selection of things "to do"   is available in the events section.

Castles

Indre-et-Loire is known for its castles. Many are still privately owned, but can be visited. Then you enter the environment where people live. Always a beautiful experience.

Where the nobility was, the clergy used to be. Witness the many abbeys and very old churches and chapels. They are often very surprising.

Homes and chapels from the past : Troglodytese

Not to be forgotten are the troglodytes. These are houses and chapels carved into the limestone cliffs. Some are still inhabited, others are used as boutiques. There is even a historic troglodyte village that you can visit.
